چکیده

Coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity in the hybrid ruthenate-cuprate compound RuSr 2 GdCu 2 O 8 studied by muon spin rotation (µSR) and DC-magnetization Abstract We have investigated the magnetic and the superconducting properties of the hybrid ruthenate-cuprate compound RuSr 2 GdCu 2 O 8 by means of zero-field muon spin rotation-(ZF-µSR) and DC magnetization measurements. The DC-magnetisation data establish that this material exhibits ferromagnetic order of the Ru-moments (µ(Ru) ≈ 1 µ B) below T Curie = 133 K and becomes superconducting at a much lower temperature T c = 16 K. The ZF-µSR experiments indicate that the ferromagnetic phase is homogeneous on a microscopic scale and accounts for most of the sample volume. They also suggest that the magnetic order is not significantly modified at the onset of superconductivity.

Coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism in 1212 -

The coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism in 1212-RuSr GdCu O is unique among high-T materials. Samples of 2 2 8 c Ru M Sr GdCu O , with M5Ti, V and Nb; and 0#x#1, were prepared to elucidate the role of the RuO planes in this interesting 1 2 x x 2 2 8 2 layered 1212 cuprate. The solubility ranges of M5Ti and V are limited to x,0.15 whereas that of Nb extends to full substitution. ...

COEXISTENCE OF FERROMAGNETISM AND HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN Dy-DOPED BiPbSrCaCuO

The interplay of ferromagnetism and superconductivity is obviously a topic of great fundamental and practical interest. Specifically, weak ferromagnetism was recently reported to coexist with superconductivity in heavy-fermion specimens.1–3 Even more recently, the discovery that ferromagnetism exists together with superconductivity in high-temperature superconductors (HTSC) of the EuCeRuSrCuO f...

High-Temperature Superconductivity

The widely held notion that high-temperature superconductivity originates in the cuprate-planes is proven to be faulty. In the cuprates such as YBa2Cu3O7, we argue that the superconductivity resides in the BaO layers. This superconductivity is s-wave, not d-wave, in the bulk. The trio of ruthenate compounds, doped Sr2YRuO6, GdSr2Cu2RuO8, and Gd2−zCezSr2Cu2RuO10 all superconduct in their SrO lay...

Coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity in iron based pnictides: a time resolved magnetooptical study

Ferromagnetism and superconductivity are antagonistic phenomena. Their coexistence implies either a modulated ferromagnetic order parameter on a lengthscale shorter than the superconducting coherence length or a weak exchange coupling between the itinerant superconducting electrons and the localized ordered spins. In some iron based pnictide superconductors the coexistence of ferromagnetism and...

Signature of coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism in two-dimensional NbSe2 triggered by surface molecular adsorption

Ferromagnetism is usually deemed incompatible with superconductivity. Consequently, the coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism is usually observed only in elegantly designed multi-ingredient structures in which the two competing electronic states originate from separate structural components. Here we report the use of surface molecular adsorption to induce ferromagnetism in two-dim...
